Can someone please tell me why the government is throwing The Bible in our faces with the same-sex marriage fiasco?!?

I mean, weren't they the same people who took God out of The Pledge of Allegiance?
And eating pork (bacon) is a sin. I don't see people protesting that. (Besides vegetarians.)
Tattooing your body, a sin. Wearing clothing of different woven fabrics, judging people, masturbation, premarital sex, divorce and Adultery! ALL SINS! A woman told me she didn't believe in same-sex marriage SIMPLY because she didn't want to explain to her children why couples of the same sex were kissing in public. All that kept running through my mind was "Seems kind of selfish of you to deny love because YOU don't understand how to tell your children 'BECAUSE THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!'"
I am not gay. But I believe in equal rights. FOR EVERYONE! And to see a fellow woman protesting this makes me sick! If it weren't for people standing up for equal rights women wouldn't be able to vote. We'd still be sitting at home with the children, cooking dinner for our awaiting husbands to return from work, being told how to dress and how to think. Be careful what side you're on. Our rights could be next! AND men... if you weren't having premarital sex, you were masturbating. I have rarely met a man who has waited until marriage to be intimate with someone this day-in-age.
AND I have some of the most amazing, kind-hearted gay friends. They don't wish to "shove their beliefs down your throat" (as that hypocritical woman tried to explain to me), they just wish to love the person of their choice. I would gladly stand by their side of love than to join you in your world of hate. I don't fear the homosexuals... I fear small-minded people like you.
